An expansive home that posed a challenge of demarcating a huge space into semiprivate & public zones through design. The Formal Living area and the Family living area are segregated through a wooden partition since the client did not want a direct visual connection between the two. The partition has been designed in a way that it becomes a backdrop for the Tv unit in the Family living area with some interesting elements like the use of glass and textured laminate.
The wooden posts and beam define the Formal Living, Family Living and Dining areas. The client had a liking for wood and hence it has been used at a number of places including the dining table & chairs. However, the sofas for both the living areas have been custom designed as running sofas in black, grey & whites which would break the monotony of the wooden palette. Abstract pattern in the bed backdrop wall creates interesting form when the indirect lights turn on. The same pattern has been used in the wardrobes with contrasting colours.
